Transforming Your Inner Dialogue: Empowering Language and Positive Change

I want to chat about something we've all experienced: that negative inner voice I like to call the Mean Girl.

She speaks to us in mysterious ways.

Unfortunately we tend to believe what she says.

She shapes our vocabulary.

Then our belief system.

Ultimately impacting who we are and how we show up.

What if we could shift her statements just a bit to create massive changes in our lives?

For example.

Mean Girl might say, “I don’t have time for that sh*t.”

What she really means is “That sh*t isn’t that important to me.”

Not everything is crucial in our lives, and that's perfectly okay.

However, there's a significant difference between these statements.

One makes us feel out of control, while the other gives us the power of choice.

How about this one:

“I have to pick up the dog at 3:30.”

Hold on a second: do you “have” to or do you “get” to?

Try saying, “I get to pick up the dog at 3:30.”

See how the subtle shift creates transformation.

One statement creates dread while the other fills you with excitement and gratitude.

Here’s a challenge for you.

Pay close attention to the Mean Girl statements you find yourself speaking (or thinking).

Do they stir up unpleasant thoughts and emotions?

Give it a try and see what happens.

Remember, you have the power to shape your beliefs and ultimately how you show up.

If you need a helping hand along the way, don't hesitate to reach out. I'm here to support you on your journey to more empowering language and positive change. Let's do this!
